The most appropriate mat for your needs will depend on several things. Here are some of the most important points to consider when choosing your floor mat:
- Setting: Dirt trapper mats are most suitable for home and office use, where only a limited number of people have access. Natural cotton mats and coir mats are particularly popular for use in the home. For areas with very high foot traffic, such as commercial settings or schools, you should choose a barrier mat, which is very durable and can absorb a lot of dirt and moisture. For industrial settings rubber mats are usually the best option for excellent durability and non-slip properties to help prevent accidents.
- Material: Nylon and polyamide mats are ideal for use in heavy traffic areas and are available in dozens of colours and sizes. Cotton mats are made from 100% natural cotton fibres and are durable but also very affordable. Coir matting is produced from natural coconut fibres and is an excellent material for door mats both inside and outside.
