Can stair treads cause damage to my stairs?

Due to the type of adhesive tape used to fix treads to the steps, no damage is caused to wooden stairs when laying or removing indoor carpet stair treads. In order to remove stair treads from wooden steps simply heat the adhesive (e.g. with a blowdryer) and remove the mat from your step.

Aluminium stair treads are fixed to the step using a screw and anchor system, which will require holes to be drilled into your stair.
